The Township provides a lending closet for residents in need of medical equipment. We have items such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and knee wheelers available for use. Please call our office at 630-668-1616 before visiting to check on the availability of items for you or your loved ones. All items are offered free of charge and can be borrowed for a period of three months.

When checking out equipment, please bring a valid driver’s license. 

To ensure the health and safety of our staff and future residents, we ask that you clean and sanitize any equipment before returning it.

If you are interested in donating medical equipment to our lending closet, please contact the Township to find out if we currently have a need for items. We appreciate your generosity; however, please note that we have limited storage space available.

Impact Snapshot: Removing Barriers & Supporting Neighbors

This is Grant. He is looking forward to celebrating his 90th birthday soon and stays committed to keeping up with his physical therapy at his assisted living community. However, his apartment was quite far from the PT wing--too far to push himself in a wheelchair. Through the Milton Township Medical Lending Closet, Grant was able to receive an electric scooter—making it much easier for him to get to therapy.
