Uplift. Encourage. Support.
The Milton Township Youth Committee was established in May 2001. According to Illinois law, specific guidelines dictate the operations of a Township Youth Committee. We have adopted a plan that addresses needs not easily met by other programs.
Our goal is to assist the youth and students of Milton Township by providing Youth Scholarship funds. These funds are designed to enhance access to classroom learning, music, drama, clubs, or sports that may otherwise be unaffordable. Please note that only current or upcoming activities, items, or services will be considered; past events are not eligible.
The Youth Committee offers two ways to apply for Youth Scholarship funds. Any resident of Milton Township can apply on behalf of their child, and the application will be approved if income guidelines are met and funds are available. Additionally, school staff may recommend and facilitate an application for a student whose family participates in the Free and Reduced Lunch program.
We strive to assess applications quickly to respond to the needs for equipment, items, and services that can further a student’s learning, enhance their connection to school, or support the development of their interests.
Our Youth Committee is committed to maintaining confidentiality and total accountability, utilizing a professional database for our operations.
These scholarship benefits are available exclusively to residents of Milton Township, as determined by a student’s school enrollment within the Township or a preschool child’s residence. The maximum funding is $500 per child per year, and all applications will remain confidential.
